FORT BRAGG (CA) -- Adventist Health Mendocino Coast announced that the hospital will transition to Cerner Electronic Health Record. The state-of-the-art EHR technology was officially launched Thursday, December 1, 2022. It will improve care pathways, provide timely communication between hospital providers and patients, and standardize workflows across Adventist Health Mendocino county hospitals and other Adventist Health facilities.
Over the next few months, there will be changes to improve care and patient experience. The integrated system will allow for the retrieval of patient data between hospitals and clinics. The Cerner EHR was created to increase efficiency and collaboration between departments such as the ER and surgery, ICU and medical/surgical, pharmacy and oncology, pharmacy, rehabilitation, lab, radiology, and respiratory therapy.
Judy Leach, President, of Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, stated that "in order for providers and staffs to consistently deliver high-quality care," she made a significant investment in a modern EHR. Prior to this transition, care teams had to use several different platforms to chat and communicate with each other. This integrated patient information and care delivery into a single platform. As we continue to improve our processes and implement new technology, we appreciate the patience of our community.
